Autumnal equinox – autumn begins. Yesterday was officially the first day of autumn and we haven't even had a hint of summer - yet!

With the promise of a long awaited heat wave lasting into October, forecast to be the warmest since 1985, now is the time to take a look at your tired summer bedding, hanging baskets and pots and give your garden a facelift.

Autumn is the new summer with warmer days and the promise of sunshine!

Now is the time to plant bulbs such as narcissi, tulip, crocus and iris and winter bedding such as primrose and pansy for winter and early spring colour.

The humble iris produces one of the world's most expensive substances Orris which is extracted out of the iris root's rhizome. Known as floral gold and used by perfumers, it is one of the most luxurious and expensive materials available to the perfumer. High quality Orris is more expensive than gold gram for gram costing around £45,000 per kilo for the purest form Orris absolute.

It won't cost a lot to make your garden rich in colour with Sir Plants-Alot's superb range of plants and bulbs. We have special offers on winter bedding and a massive 20% off all garden furniture, containers, decorative gravel, fruit trees and selected shrubs.

Recycle your old hanging basket in our Bring back a basket™ scheme. Trade in to qualify for 10% discount off a new filled hanging basket, or have your old basket refilled at 10% off new filled price.
